Story Club

📚 Welcome to Story Club 📚

Story Club takes place every Monday 3.15-4.15pm.  We start each session by reading our chosen story for that week. This is then followed by an activity based around the story.

Most recently we have enjoyed making spider headbands (The very busy spider) and we enjoyed having a little tea party with a jam sandwich and a cup of tea! (The tiger who came to tea).

🌞 Summer Term 2018 🌞

We have enjoyed lots of stories this term! We started the term by reading ‘Shark in the Park’, where we made our own Shark pegs!

One of our favourite stories has been ‘The Great Paper Caper’, the children all had lots of ideas about this story, and we decided to make, and fly, paper aeroplanes!

To finish our Story Club sessions for this year, we ended with ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’. The children loved walking through all of the different textures especially the cornflakes and jelly!

We are now busy planning what stories to read in September, and to see how many more books we can tick off the ‘Stoke Reads 100’.

🐣 Spring Term 2018 🐣

The Spring Term was filled with lots of fantastic stories!

The children particularly enjoyed ‘The Animal Boogie’, where we made jungle masks and sang along to the story!

‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ was another popular story, with the children enjoying making their own Golden tickets, and of course some yummy chocolate treats!

It was lovely to see how the story ‘Guess how much I love you’ inspired the childrens conversations abouttheir own families and why they love them.

Please look through our photographs to see to see all of the fun we have each Monday!

If your child has a favourite story that you think would be great for Story Club, please let us know! 😊

Many thanks.
