~Important Information~

P.E. Days

Our PE days are: Tuesday and Friday

PE kits should be kept in school at all times, even on non-PE days, as things can sometimes change at short notice. Kits should be taken home at the weekend to be washed.  Please make sure that you bring weather appropriate clothes. Please see the Sutherland Primary Academy uniform policy for further guidance on PE kit items.

Spellings and Homework

Reading is incredibly important to your child's development. Children at Sutherland each have a banded reading book. Every time they read at home and get their diary signed by an adult, they are able to earn tokens which they can convert to additional Golden Stamps!

Golden Homework is another great way to earn extra Golden Stamps! Homework tasks are handed out every two weeks and children can earn up to FOUR Golden Stamps for homework that is completed to a fantastic standard. Homework is sent out at the start of every term and current homework tasks can be found further down the page. Golden homework is set every Monday.

Maths and SPAG homework is set every Friday and should be returned by the following Friday. All children are invited to join the SATs support group if they struggle to complete their weekly homework.

Times Table Rock Stars. Every child has been provided with their login details in order to practise their tables knowledge. It is recommended that children spend three minutes a day on the website to improve their fluency with their tables. Children can either log in through the TTRS website or download the app for their phone or tablet.

Spellings for the whole year have been handed out on the first day of the new school year. These can be found further down the page. Spelling tests take place each Friday.

Thank you to all of the parents who actively support and encourage their children in reading and completing their homework- it will make such a difference to their progress!

Key Stage 2 SATs Tests

Here is an information video about the KS2 SATs tests.

Please be aware that our KS2 SATs assessment week will be the week commencing Monday 13th May 2024. It is really important that children are in school every day in the weeks leading up to this! Following SATs, we will be working very hard on our writing assessments. This writing assessment requires up to six pieces of extended writing to be completed and the deadline is the end of June, and it is vital that children are in school during this period.

Please come back and visit again soon!
