School Council

What is the School Council?

We hold meetings as regularly as possible with Mrs Goodwin as our chairperson to lead the agenda of our school council meetings and Mrs Niblett, who takes the minutes for our meetings.

During the meetings our chairperson will read the agenda and the minutes are taken. The minutes will then be shared with all classes.

The school council can take forward initiatives and projects on behalf of their peers, and be involved in strategic planning and processes such as the School Development Plan, governing body meetings and on occasions staff appointments.

Our school council aims to help pupils feel that their school responds to their needs; have the opportunity to let adults know their feelings and opinions about things that affect them; have a say about decisions, and to play an active role in making their school a better place.

Our School Council represents the views of all our pupils. It gives children the opportunity to make their voices heard and feel part of the whole school community.
