What is the School Council?

 

We hold meetings once every half term with Mrs Locker as our chairperson to lead the agenda of our school council meetings and our Chair of Governors, Mr Macdonald.

 

The school council can take forward initiatives and projects on behalf of their peers, and be involved in strategic planning and processes such as the School Development Plan, governing body meetings and on occasions staff appointments.

 

Our school council aims to help pupils feel that their school responds to their needs; have the opportunity to let adults know their feelings and opinions about things that affect them; have a say about decisions, and to play an active role in making their school a better place. 

 

We are proud that our student voice has meant the outdoor spaces are being improved, with the MUGA, climbing frame and gym on the KS2 yard, and the new addition of a Trim Trail on the KS1 yard.

Our School Council represents the views of all our pupils. It gives children the opportunity to make their voices heard and feel part of the whole school community.
