What is the School Council?

At Sutherland, we are incredibly proud of our active and dedicated School Council. Our pupils meet once every half term to share their views, celebrate what is working well and discuss ideas for how we can continue to improve our school.

Our School Council representatives play an important role in giving every pupil a voice. They actively engage with the wider school community, listen to the ideas and concerns of their peers, and work collaboratively to help drive positive change.

Through their involvement, our pupils demonstrate the values that are at the heart of Sutherland: resilience as they work to overcome challenges and bring about change; integrity as they represent the views of others honestly and responsibly; compassion as they listen to and consider the experiences of their peers; aspiration as they strive to make our school the very best it can be; and curiosity as they ask questions, explore new ideas and look for ways to improve.

We are immensely proud of the enthusiasm, responsibility and commitment our School Council demonstrates in helping to shape the future of our school.
