School Sporting Success 2021-2022

• Year 5 & 6 Sutherland Netball team qualify for the County Netball finals at Fenton Manor after finishing runners up in the Longton Schools competition on Tuesday 18th January
• 16 KS1 pupils take part in the Longton Schools Multi Skills Sports event at Trentham High School on Thursday 20th January
• 16 Year 3 & 4 pupils take part in the Longton Schools Change4Life Sports afternoon at Trentham High School on Thursday 27th January
• Girls football team beat Meadows Primary 2-0 & 1-0 in the Longton Schools Primary football League on Wednesday 26th January
• Year 5 & 6 Boys football team come runners up in the Stoke City Primary Schools Futsal tournament at Fenton Manor on Tuesday 8th February
• Year 5 & 6 Boys Footballers through to the English Schools quarter finals with a penalty shoot out victory over Walton Prior Middle School on Wednesday 16th February .
• Sutherland Primary Academy Year 5 & 6 Indoor Athletic Team finish 3rd in the County Finals at Fenton Manor Leisure Centre on Tuesday 1st March.
• Year 3 & 4 win the Longton Schools Dodgeball Competition at Eaton Park Academy on Friday 4th March. 
• Year 5 & 6 Boys football team lose 2 -0 against Oakridge Primary in the semi finals of the English Schools football County Cup.
• 5 Pupils from year 5 & 6 have been picked to represent Longton Primary Schools in the Inter City County Cross Country Finals on Wednesday 30th March.
• Year 6 pupils received 'Silver' medals for the Longton schools Sports4All event on Tuesday 29th March
• 6 Pupils qualified for the Stoke City Primary Schools City Cross Country Finals. Longton Boys Squad eventually being the overall winners!

Congratulations to everyone involved here at Sutherland Primary Academy for being Awarded the School Games 'GOLD AWARD' for PE & Sport participation. Once again, this is a magnificent achievement and testament to the effort and commitment of the pupils of our school.

This is the 5th Year running that the school has received this prestigious award. We will now be trying our hardest to gain the Platinum award in 2022.
