Welcome to Year 3! 

Welcome to Autumn Term 1 in Year 3! 

We are class 3SH and our teachers are Mrs Hancock, Mrs Macdonald and Miss Cuerden. We are very excited to welcome you all back to school!  

We have so many exciting adventures and learning opportunities planned for this term, and we can’t wait to get started! One of the highlights this term will be our trip to Cannock Chase, where the children will have the opportunity to explore, discover and learn outside of the classroom. 🌳🍂
 

We’ll also be putting our green fingers to the test as we develop our gardening skills through our topic, ‘How Does Your Garden Grow?’ 🌻🌱 We’ll be planting some new seeds and, of course, keeping a close eye on them as they grow. Will we have more success this year? We can’t wait to find out!

📚 Key Information for Year 3: 

• PE Days: Please make sure your child comes to school with their PE kit on PE days and children will also need to have earrings removed.

• Flipped Learning Homework: Our Year 3 Flipped Learning Homework Tasks will be sent out at the beginning of the new academic term. You will also find a copy below so you can see what exciting learning opportunities are coming up!

• Times Table Rock Stars 🎸: Your child’s Times Table Rock Stars login will be placed in the back of their reading diary. Each week, we will encourage the children to log in and practise their 2, 5, 10, 3 and 4 times tables. The more they practise, the more coins they can earn to spend in the TTRS shop and customise their very own rock star avatar! ⭐🎤

• Reading 📖: Please aim to read with your child at least three times a week. Regular reading makes a huge difference to children’s confidence, vocabulary and overall progress!
