☀️Suncream☀️

As we head into the summer months, we hope that we get some lovely sunshine.  We therefore politely ask that all children bring into school a sunhat and labelled water bottle. Also all children must have sun cream applied before coming into school so we can enjoy some of the lovely weather outside safely as unfortunately we can not apply any here at school.

☀️Summer Term 2☀️

As we head into our final term of nursery we have some very exciting topics lined up.

Firstly we will be discussing Father's day and all of the special people in our lives. We will be extremely busy creating some special gifts for our loved ones to take home. Within this topic we will be looking at the story “Supertato”.

We will then move onto the topic “keeping healthy”, we will be looking and discussing all of the ways we can keep ourselves fit and healthy. This will include our preparations for sports day and remembering how to stay safe in the sun.

For our final 2 weeks in nursery we will be looking at feelings and discussing how situations may make us feel and also how our friends may also feel.

To end our topic based upon “what is in the egg?” the children from FS1 went on an exciting trip to the Peak Wildlife park. The children had a fantastic day seeing a variety of animals such as the penguins, a polar bear, lemurs, meerkats and many more. The children were also lucky enough to hand feed and stroke the wallaby's and we even spotted the babies in their pouch. What a super day ☀️

⭐️General Information⭐️

 P.E.
Our P.E. days are Monday and Tuesday with Mr Penk, Mr Meakin and Mr Hands. For Health and Safety please ensure that long hair is tied up and earrings are removed.

Reading
In our weekly guided reading sessions each child has the opportunity to choose 2 new books to take home. One book will be a library book which the children can choose from a selection of stories in the reading tent. The second book is a ‘discussion’ book, this will be a book without any words, just pictures. These books are brilliant for encouraging a child’s imagination, communication, language and story telling skills. Each night the children may look at their discussion book but may create a different story or notice something they didn’t see in the pictures the night before.

Uniform

Please ensure that children have each piece of their uniform clearly labelled to avoid losing them. Please could each child also have a spare pair of clothes available on their peg daily in case a change of clothes is needed during the school day.

Water

Where possible, please could children come to school with a bottle containing water only. Thank you

Golden stamps and homework

Each day the children will have the opportunity to earn two golden stamps at school when they follow the golden rules. We will be sending home golden homework home every Thursday, there are activities that you can complete with your child at home, and stamps will be rewarded for the effort your child has made. At the end of each half term they can use use these golden stamps to choose a golden activity. The golden stamps that are not used each term will be saved for the end of the year golden activities; these activities require a higher number of stamps and include visits to the monkey forest and cheeky monkeys.
