🌷Spring term 2🌷

As we move into our Spring term 2, we will be taking part in lots of exciting topics based upon the following topics:

🌷Mr Wolf’s pancakes- Focussed around pancake day, we will be taking part in a variety of activities based upon the story “Mr Wolf’s pancakes”. We will also have a special WOW day as we will make and try our own pancakes.
🌷Mother’s day- Let’s celebrate our loved ones and all that they do for us. We will also be working hard to create our own special surprise gifts.
🌷Easter - We will be talking about the story of Easter and discussing the ways that it is celebrated. During this topic we will be taking part in a variety of exciting activities looking at ‘new life’.

Within the classroom we have 2 new role play areas. We have a pancake cafe, filled with delicious treats to serve their friends and also a shop, complete with a till and trolleys. Within both areas we are encouraging the children’s love of writing by supporting the children to write their own shopping lists and orders in the cafe.

Mr Wolf’s Pancakes

⭐️General Information⭐️

Our P.E. days are Monday and Tuesday with Mr Penk, Mr Meakin and Mr Hands. For Health and Safety please ensure that long hair is tied up and earrings are removed.

In our weekly guided reading sessions each child has the opportunity to choose 2 new books to take home. One book will be a library book which the children can choose from a selection of stories in the reading tent. The second book is a ‘discussion’ book, this will be a book without any words, just pictures. These books are brilliant for encouraging a child’s imagination, communication, language and story telling skills. Each night the children may look at their discussion book but may create a different story or notice something they didn’t see in the pictures the night before.

Please ensure that children have each piece of their uniform clearly labelled to avoid losing them. Please could each child also have a spare pair of clothes available on their peg daily in case a change of clothes is needed during the school day.

Where possible, please could children come to school with a bottle containing water only. Thank you

Golden stamps and homework

Each day the children will have the opportunity to earn two golden stamps at school when they follow the golden rules. We will be sending home golden homework home every Thursday, there are activities that you can complete with your child at home, and stamps will be rewarded for the effort your child has made. At the end of each half term they can use use these golden stamps to choose a golden activity. The golden stamps that are not used each term will be saved for the end of the year golden activities; these activities require a higher number of stamps and include visits to the monkey forest and cheeky monkeys.
