Welcome to 1G! I am Miss Griggs, the 1G class teacher, and I work alongside our teaching assistant, the lovely Miss Cuerden. The wider Year 1 team is the wonderful Mrs Copeland and Mrs Ibbs and their equally wonderful teaching assistants Mrs Macdonald and Mrs Meek.
Our PE days are Monday (with Miss Griggs) and Thursday (with Mr Penk). Please ensure children bring their P.E kits in on Monday. They will then take them home on Friday to be washed before bringing them back. Thank you!
Please ensure that children have each piece of their uniform (and P.E kit) clearly labelled to avoid losing them.
Where possible, please send your child in with a water bottle, even a plastic one. We have a limited number of cups in the classroom and to avoid them sharing and to keep them healthy, we advise they have a personal bottle.
All KS1 children are entitled to free school meals. The hot dinner changes daily (see the Sutherland Sentinel for the weekly menu) with jacket potatoes and sandwiches/ wraps/ rolls with a range of fillings available every day. Children are also welcome to bring a home packed lunch.
Stamps and Golden Activities
Every day, children can earn stamps (ranging from a 5 to an 8) by following the golden rules, completing golden homework and reading at home. These stamps saved until the last day of term when they are used to participate in golden activities. If children have not earned enough stamps, they are unable to take part in the golden activities.
