Phonics
Sutherland Primary Academy follows the Twinkl Phonics scheme which has five levels, each with different sounds. Prior to Year One, children were taught Levels One to Four; in Year One, we start Level Five. On Thursdays and Fridays and some afternoons, Miss Greer and Mrs Mack revisits Levels One to Four with some children. Please ensure you regularly practice phonics with your child at home! The nationwide phonics screening tests will take place in June 2027.
